Meet Our Famililes

Elisabeth Fielder-Hix is no stranger to blended families. Her parents divorced when she was five and both remarried a short time latter. She has two older half brothers, a full-blood brother, and a younger half brother. She also has 5 step-siblings. Over time, step-brothers and sisters also entered and exited the family circle. Now as an adult, Elisabeth has a biological teen son and 3 step-sons (a teenager and twin tweens) that live in her home full-time. Each day is faced with new challenges of juggling home, work and different family personalities.
Elisabeth has been able to take her experiences with blended family and apply them to her own family. She strives to make each of her kids well aware that they are "her boys". No his, hers, and ours. She and her husband also work constantly on building a stable home for their children where they know that their marriage is intact no matter the struggles they face.

Jennifer Vazquez was born to her two biological parents and older sister. It wouldn’t be too long before she would belong to a different kind of family-what is known as a blended family. Her family of four expanded to a family of nine when her parents divorced and her mother re-married. She would have 3 step-siblings and a half brother would be born of the marriage. At one point in time the family consisted of 6 children between the ages of newborn and 16 years old. Another divorce would take place a few years later leaving a new kind of family- a single parent family.
As an adult, Jennifer remains in touch with her step-father and step-siblings. Jennifer has also made a family of her own. Jennifer's husband has a daughter from a previous relationship who lives in their home full-time. Jennifer will adopt her step-daughter sometime within the next year. She and her husband also share a biological son.
